Why aren't they doing that? Because then, people could really have an idea how powerful /slow their dsp are. Why nobody wonder why they only have plug-ins, but NO SYNTHS? Because their engineers could easily 100% model some classic synths, just like Arturia does. The dsp models they've chosen aren't among the slowest/less powerful ones. and they would still be making tons of cash, from each card sold. A quad should have 8 or 12 dsps, an octo, 16 or 24.

But I guess the 2nd choice is good.īecause for the price people are paying, and what those dsps do cost, the dsp cards should have 2 or 3 times more chips. I wish uad could tell us if their dsp cards got chosen because they offer more power than a fast cup, or because they can use it as a huge hardware dongle. LOL at the guys who pay 1700 euros for an octo card, to find out there are a few plug-ins that they might only use ONCE. Even more, when uad lie to their (future) customers about the cards instance count, by using as reference 44.1Khz 16bit, when most pros will be using AT LEAST 96Khz 24bit quality. That's why there are some uad plug-ins where a single stereo instance will DESTROY an OCTO card. Though, the guys at UAD must have versions of their plug-ins that RUN on standard x86 platforms, and probably, they run much faster on old I7 3770k or I5 2500k cpus than on their cheapo dsp processors, as they have chosen to work with some of the least expensive and least powerful shark DSPs. It's as low as the guys who create new posts/releases, on audioz, for FREEWARE apps, to which there are free links provided by the developer/website.
